My day completely got away from me and it wasn't until 10 p.m. that I realized that I still hadn't made my tender shortcakes. These fabulous shortcakes were selected by Cathy of The Tortefeasor. These babies are a keeper for sure and so easy to make! I called my husband and told him to pick up some whipped cream on the way home and got crackin on the shortcakes. I had already picked up a pint of blackberries and had some raspberries in the freezer. I decided to add some fresh nutmeg and
a splash of almond extract. As the shortcakes baked in the oven, the aroma of the nutmeg was heavenly! Once these were put together, they were gobbled up as the angels sang! I think I will make these for 4th of July.
